Kevin LaPorte and Amanda Rachels' macabre Clown Town characters creep into Indie Comics Magazine #4, a special holiday issue, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' October 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews, announced Publisher Gary Scott Beatty.
"Kevin and Amanda are an excellent team that present a slick (and disturbing) story every time," said Beatty. "We're looking forward to more great work from this studio."
Kevin and Amanda used one of their submissions to the now-defunct Zuda web comic competition to launch their 2010 web comic, The Blind Eye, now collected into their first self-published work.
Their Clown Town contribution to the 2010 Small Press Idol competition dominated the popular vote, falling to second place in the last round on the very last day!
The team has contributed stories to the literacy-focused Reading With Pictures Vol. 1, Grayhaven Comics’ The Gathering anthology and more.
Each issue of Indie Comics Magazine features full stories from many independent comic book creators, said Beatty. Short biographies and contact information are included so readers can easily seek out more of the creators' work. Also scheduled for the Indie Comics Magazine Christmas Issue are Ignatz Award winner Rich Koslowski's The 3 Geeks, Adventures of Aaron cartoonist Aaron Warner's A College Girl Named Joe and Mad magazine's Douglas Paszkiewicz with Arsenic Lullaby.
Indie Comics Magazine is 64 pages of the best story and art from today's independent comic book creators. No huge overprint, no digital version, no back issue sales, October's Previews under Aazurn Publishing is the ONLY way comic readers can get Indie Comics Magazine #4, the Christmas issue!
