Newcomer LeVar Leo recently introduced his action adventure hero Trey, a character in FacePalm Comics' growing stable of exciting heroes, in Trey #1. Written by Leo, with illustrations from Leigh Walls, Trey #1 presents the title character, the newest member of an Armed Guard Agency division who, years after the devastation of his world, encounters a person with ties to his past. What are the secrets behind the mysterious weapon that had doomed Trey's family?

"The overall story is pretty cosmic," said Editor Gary Scott Beatty, "but LeVar does a great job of introducing his world in this single eight page, done-in-one story. It's a thrilling shoot-em-up!"

Film producer and director, dermatologist and film festival program director Terry Cronin fills his Students of the Unusual comic series with horror tales based on Florida legend. Terry's new Skinvestigator prose books follow the murder investigations of dermatologist Doctor Harry Poe.

Terry joined forces with Pat Martin, Jeff Hall and Bob Lizek to create 3 Boys Productions, responsible for the annual Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival. The team is now producing Adventure Chefs, a reality show where contestants hunt, forage and gather food to prepare fine dining for judges.

Writer Joe Sergi is a newcomer, but no stranger to critical acclaim. Sergi's first novel, Sky Girl and the Superheroic Legacy, was released from iEnovel in 2010. That same year, Joe received the Haller Award for Best Writer from the Comicbook Artist Guild at New York ComicCon. He was selected as a semi-finalist in the Who Wants to Create a Superheroine contest sponsored by the Shadowline Imprint of Image Comics.

Sergi  writes short stories and articles in the horror, science fiction, and superhero genres. For comics, he has written romance, superhero, science fiction, and horror tales.

"Struggling Norwegian writer" Glenn Møane has released “American Sinner” with Edson Alves, “The Gathering” with Enric Simon (in Food Chain Anthology #1), and “Homecoming” with Marco Santiago. "The Standard" was published in a digital anthology through Diablo Comics Presents and graphic novel “Partners” (illustrated by Elias Martins) will soon be published by MoonShot Digital Comics.

In "Staying Positive," artist Dan Henderson uses clean lines and masterful grays to portray the orderly, button-down lives of big city office workers.

Møane is currently working on a webcomic project called "Lazarus Standing." A number of his noir tales dealing with crime, cynicism, and people motivated by greed and sex will be collected in an anthology with art from illustrators as diverse as Henderson and Desperado's Predrag Ivanovic.

Theodore Roosevelt Battles Zombies in Indie Comics Magazine's Summer Issue

Guns blazing, a young "Teddy" Roosevelt cuts his way through a horde of zombies in Frederick Kim's "The Dead and Endless Wastes," appearing in Indie Comics Magazine's Summer Issue, scheduled for preorder in Diamond's June 2012 Previews under Aazurn Publishing.

After a Star Trek fiction Kim wrote was published by Pocket Books, he explored writing for comics and Hollywood. A life-long fan of science fiction and fantasy, he's been recognized in several screenwriting contests for his television pilots and spec teleplays.

At Andy Schmidt's Comics Experience workshop for comics creators, Kim met other talented storytellers who joined together to form Elevator Pitch Press.

Kim is working on several projects, including a TV pilot about a combat support hospital in a world devastated by a global pandemic, and a cyberpunk comic mini-series about the coming robot revolution. "I realize I have a thing for stories about worst-case scenarios," he said.
