Gene altered, designer animals are latest pet trend. When nature takes hold and these creatures become menacing, Animal Control: Special Creatures Unit steps in. So begins Rob Anderson's "Feral" in Indie Comics Magazine's Summer Issue, scheduled for preorder in Diamond's June 2012 Previews under Aazurn Publishing.
"Animal control is a dangerous job, but somebody's got to do it…" writes Anderson. His done-in-one story features characters from his forthcoming "Animal Control: Special Creatures Unit" miniseries.
Anderson's "Rex, Zombie Killer" from Big Dog Ink, arriving in comic shops this month, garnered reviewer praise from Fangoria to Newsarama to Ain't It Cool News. Kurt Anthony Krug of Comic Buyer's Guide wrote "Rex" is "solid and fast-paced, with good character development and funny moments thrown in."
When not writing comics, Anderson is General Manager of Andy Schmidt's Comics Experience and moderator/administrator of the Comic Creators Workshop online community. He was also the editor of, and a contributing writer to, the Great Zombies in History anthology miniseries from Elevator Pitch Press, and is a member of The Brutal Circle writer’s group. Rob founded Panda Dog Press in 2009.
Indie Comics Magazine's Summer Issue will feature eight complete stories, from creators as diverse as Star Trek book writer Frederick Kim, Norwegian Glenn Møane, Australia's Paul Bradford and Haller Award winner Joe Sergi.
A video preview of this issue is online at IndieComicsMagazine.com.
The moody cover painting for the Summer Issue is by Image and Disney illustrator Terry Pavlet.
