Aaron Warner, the nationally syndicated cartoonist best known for Adventures of Aaron, will appear in Indie Comics Magazine #4, a special Christmas issue, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' October 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews, announced Publisher Gary Scott Beatty.

Warner has created ground-breaking cartoon features for newspapers and magazines worldwide. The critically acclaimed and wildly popular Adventures of Aaron ran for over 10 years, was read by over six million newspaper subscribers, and garnered a Rueben Award nomination from the National Cartoonist Society.

From 2002 to 2007, Warner syndicated A College Girl Named Joe, a college-themed daily strip that became the number one downloaded comic feature through MCT Campus. His Indie Comics Magazine story details Joe's Christmas break during her freshman year.

Warner's "You Are Here" can be seen in a variety of newspapers and is available for publishing through Cartoonstock.com.

The 3 Geeks Appear in Indie Comics Magazine's Christmas Issue

Comic book fan favorite and Eisner nominated The 3 Geeks by Rich Koslowski will appear in Indie Comics Magazine #4, a special Christmas issue, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' October 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews, announced Publisher Gary Scott Beatty.

The 3 Geeks launched Koslowski's career and has been a constant in his years in the business of comics. Since the How To Pick Up Girls If You’re A Comic Book Geek one-shot was published in 1997, The 3 Geeks have appeared in 25 comics and four trade paperbacks.

Koslowski won an Ignatz Award for “Best Graphic Novel” in 2001 for Three Fingers, a dark comedy in documentary style about cartoon actors in the '30s and '40s and the barriers they faced in a prejudicial Hollywood. In 2005 Koslowski released The King, his take on the Elvis Presley phenomenon. His BB Wolf and the Three LPs hardcover was released last year with a blues CD. His 12 issue run writing for Marvel Comics Presents was recently released as the trade paperback Weapon Omega.

"I bought the first 3 Geeks one-shot from Rich at the Chicago Comicon 14 years ago and laughed my head off," said Beatty. "I knew then Rich was a great storyteller. His 2007 novel, The List, showed he has a different way of looking at the Christmas season. I was overjoyed when he decided to contribute a 3 Geeks Christmas story to Indie Comics Magazine #4."

Golden Age Legend Bellman Appears in Indie Comics Magazine #3

A story by Golden Age legend Allen Bellman, who worked on Captain America in 1942, will appear in Indie Comics Magazine #3, announced Editor Gary Scott Beatty. Indie Comics Magazine #3 is scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' August 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews.

Bellman became a staff artist at Timely and, while still a teenager, drew backgrounds for Syd Shores' Captain America in 1942. He later worked on The Patriot, The Destroyer, The Human Torch, Jap Buster Johnson and Jet Dixon of the Space Squadron, All Winners Comics, Marvel Mystery, Sub Mariner Comics, Young Allies and many more.

Let's Play Detective was Bellman's comic book creation. He also contributed to Atlas pre-Code horror, crime, war and western titles.

In the '50s Bellman moved to work for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He is also a photographer whose work has appeared on hundreds of books and in museum exhibits. He can still be seen at conventions and still accepts commissions. In 2007 he received the Inkpot Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Comic Arts at the San Diego Comic-Con International.

Faust Artist Tim Vigil to Return in Indie Comics Magazine #3

Nationally known illustrator Tim Vigil's character Dick William Vickers, private eye, will return in Indie Comics Magazine #3, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' August 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews. The done-in-one tale features an eight page story from Vigil's City of Lost Souls series, announced Indie Comics Magazine Editor Gary Scott Beatty.

Praised for his attention to detail in black and white art, anatomy, and extremely graphic art, Vigil is responsible for creating the DynaPop art style and was a key member of the Rebel Studios company. His graphic novel Faust (with David Quinn) was adapted by Brian Yuzna as the movie Faust: Love of the Damned. Faust: Book of M was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award for Best Illustrated Narrative.

Vickers is a film noir styled private eye in a horror story setting, said Beatty, who will appear in a series of books some time in the future. "We get a glimpse of him here, following leads in the Devil's Den area of Sacrament, New York." The tale is written by Vigil's nephew, Jeff Vigil.

Tim's art has appeared in books by Caliber Comics, Verotik (the comic book label of The Misfits leader Glenn Danzig) and in the Broken Halos Studios books Broken Halo and Gunfighters in Hell (featuring art by brother Joe Vigil).

Vigil's art books include Dark Utopia and Gothic Nights. For Avatar, Tim created the titles Webwitch and EO. Recent work includes Faust: Singha's Talons at Avatar Press and covers and interiors for the Fantastic Worlds of Frank Frazetta series.
