Aazurn Publishing reaches the tenth issue of it’s flagship
title Indie Comics Magazine by featuring a story from indie legend Peter
Kuper. He joins other independent comic book veterans and talented
newcomers in the new issue, for order from October 2015’s Previews
catalog! OCT151006
"From political commentary to straight-up horror to all ages stories,
we have it all in this issue," said Publisher Gary Scott Beatty, "All
eight tales are done-in-one, complete stories showcasing creativity that
exists, for the most part, outside of mainstream comic book publishing.
Special Guest Peter Kuper (Mad Magazine, World War III Illustrated,
The System) presents the wordless "One Dollar" in Indie Comics Magazine
#10. One small piece of paper affects the lives of over a dozen people
in this powerful tale.
"Peter has been telling gripping stories that illustrate social
issues since co-founding World War III Illustrated in 1979. His Vertigo
book The System, an even larger wordless work, explores class warfare in
the big city. We’re very lucky to have him in this milestone issue,"
said Beatty.
Then, actor Gil (Buck Rogers) Gerard accepts a strange role in "Welcome to the Con" by Big City Comics Studio’s Jeffrey Kaufman, who is both a prolific comic book writer and a nationally recognized legal expert and defense attorney.
Future world citizens regret attending a government sponsored open forum in Paul Bradford’s
"Unpropitious Fate!" Bradford has appeared in most of the prior Indie
Comics Magazine issues. His small press, Inertia Publications, is based
in Western Australia.
Alien gladiators battle to the death in Troy Vevasis’
"The Duel!" Troy publishes his indie through Troy’s Comics, including
fan favorite Furry Qaileny, and the distinctive Trolik series.
In Terry Cronin’s "Horse Power G" humans talk about their horses —
and the horses talk about them! "I’ve been following this Terry Cronin
all ages series and I never, never know what’s coming next!" said
Beatty. "Terry has appeared in every single issue of Indie Comics
Magazine."
Street races turn deadly in "Speed Demonz!" Gabe Lamberty
has a full graphic novel based on this concept of violent street races
run by a syndicate, and his short story in Indie Comics Magazine
introduces that world.
Dark plans place hens in indentured servitude in Rick Bonn’s
"Farm Noir!" An author who has also developed film projects, Bonn’s
storytelling skill shines through in this short with stylish art by
Scott Irwin.
K.J. Murphey’s tale relates how a trapper seals his
fate in "A Weindigo Curse!" "Horror is a useful outlet for a talented
artist and I love the atmosphere that hovers over this tale," said
Beatty.
With its landmark 10th issue, Indie Comics Magazine solidifies its
claim as the comic book with the best story and art from independent
comic book creators. A Previews exclusive found only in comic shops,
Indie Comics Magazine #10 can be ordered from October 2015’s Previews
catalog from Aazurn Publishing, Diamond Order #OCT151006.
