Full Lineup Announced for the Indie Comics Magazine #2
Aazurn Publishing has announced the full lineup of the second edition of the new Indie Comics Magazine, scheduled NOW for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' February 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews.

The Possum Creator Blair Kitchen to Appear in Indie Comics Magazine #2
Writer and Illustrator Blair Kitchen will appear in the new Indie Comics Magazine #2, available for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' February 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews. Blair's done-in-one tale is an eight page story featuring The Possum, announced Indie Comics Magazine Editor Gary Scott Beatty.
Blair owns and operates Possum Press, which publishes The Possum, a character that originated as doodles in Blair's 10th grade sketchbook. He and a friend "were attempting to come up with the lamest super hero that we could." The Possum has no super strength or special abilities, other than the fact that he has no vital signs. After a beating, he simply plays dead. "Ten years later, I discovered my old sketchbook, and when I saw the picture, it made me laugh," said Blair.
Blair honed his art skills working as a traditional animator and storyboard artist in Toronto, Canada. He has directed commercials, animated on commercials and features, drawn boards for TV, and even spent a time supervising in the Phillipines.
Pacing is important to a comedic story, said Blair. "I guess I have learned a lot about comedic timing from working as an animator for the last 10 years, and that just transfers from animation into comic form."

Faust Artist Tim Vigil to Appear in Indie Comics Magazine #2
Nationally known illustrator Tim Vigil's character Dick William Vickers, private eye, will appear in the new Indie Comics Magazine #2, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' February 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews. The done-in-one tale features an eight page story from Vigil's City of Lost Souls series, announced Indie Comics Magazine Editor Gary Scott Beatty.
Praised for his attention to detail in black and white art, anatomy, and extremely graphic art, Vigil is responsible for creating the DynaPop art style and was a key member of the Rebel Studios company. His graphic novel Faust (with David Quinn) was adapted by Brian Yuzna as the movie Faust: Love of the Damned. Faust: Book of M was nominated for a Bram Stoker Award for Best Illustrated Narrative.
Vickers is a film noir styled private eye in a horror story setting, said Beatty, who will appear in a series of books some time in the future. "We get a glimpse of him here, following leads in the Devil's Den area of Sacrament, New York." The tale is written by Vigil's nephew, Jeff Vigil.
Tim's art has appeared in books by Caliber Comics, Verotik (the comic book label of The Misfits leader Glenn Danzig) and in the Broken Halos Studios books Broken Halo and Gunfighters in Hell (featuring art by brother Joe Vigil).
Vigil's art books include Dark Utopia and Gothic Nights. For Avatar, Tim created the titles Webwitch and EO. Recent work includes Faust: Singha's Talons at Avatar Press and covers and interiors for the Fantastic Worlds of Frank Frazetta series.

DC's Zuda Artist Tom Kelly Illustrates Indie Comics Magazine #2 Cover
Indie Comics Magazine Editor Gary Scott Beatty recently announced an illustration by nationally known cartoonist Tom Kelly will appear on the cover of the second issue of the new comic book, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' February 2011 Previews catalog and available ONY through Previews.
Kelly's children's web comic "The Stuffed Animal Sagas" was featured on DC comics' website ZUDA.com. His illustrations have appeared in Black Petals magazine, Star Wars Insider, Imagine Fx, Design Graphics, Tales of the Talisman, Thrasher, Wired and Time Out Chicago magazine.
"Indie Comics Magazine is doing in print what DC attempted online: giving greater exposure to talented indy creators," said Beatty. "And Tom's work is just phenomenal."
Kelly, a Chicago based artist, has also designed posters and promotional art for Chicago bands Daemon Familiar, Unibrow and Moses Gun. He has produced graphic design and illustration for numerous design, production and toy companies, such as Spin Master Toys, Rittenhouse Archives, Topps, Hasbro, EA Sports, Wizards of the Coast and Mattel.

Terry Cronin Presents Zombies of Rock in the New Indie Comics Magazine #2
Rock is back from the dead, as indie author Terry Cronin contributes a double-sized zombie story to the new Indie Comics Magazine #2, scheduled for preorder in Diamond Comic Distributors' February 2011 Previews catalog and available ONLY through Previews. The done-in-one tale features the band Recalcitrant Jones and the Deadbeats from Cronin's popular Students of the Unusual comic series, announced Indie Comics Magazine Editor Gary Scott Beatty.
"Throughout the years in Students of the Unusual, Terry has proven himself to be a versatile short story writer, a skill sadly lacking in many of today's comic books," said Beatty. "When he sets out to write comedy, like in the Recalcitrant Jones and the Deadbeats stories, Terry strikes the right chord."
Film producer and director, dermatologist and film festival program director Terry Cronin fills his Students of the Unusual comic series with horror tales based on the myths, legends and history of his home state of Florida. "Terry knows how to misdirect readers so plot twists are real surprises," said Beatty. "That technique works well in straight up horror, fantasy or comedy."
Art in the Indie Comic Magazine tale is supplied by Steve Mack. His retro cartoon style is well suited to a story about a super group of dead rockers.
Terry joined forces with Pat Martin, Jeff Hall and Bob Lizek to create 3 Boys Productions, responsible for the annual Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival. Hamtramck Idea Men in the New Indie Comics Magazine #2
